March 2 Num. 29-32 & Hebrews 5:11-6:20

Numbers speaks of vows we make to the Lord, Num. 30:2-3 “Moses said to the heads of the Israelite tribes, “This is what the LORD has commanded: When a man makes a vow to the LORD or binds himself under oath to a pledge, he shall not violate his word, but must fulfill exactly the promise he has uttered.” How good is your word? Is there someone who needs to know that you are good for the words you spoke to them? We hear Moses having some of the Midianite women and children killed. Could such killing be God’s will? No, this is not a news report it is a statement of faith. Don't jeopardize your faith by the presence of pagan beliefs and practices – they must all die so that no pagan influences start to mingle into Israel’s faith. I like the note on Num. 32:38 that the city of Baal-meon will be renamed! By saying this, the author indicates the depth of his faith. May the words you share today show the depth of your faith?

Lent is a good time to hear the message of Heb. 5:11f is your heart a little sluggish. Trust God to give you what you need to live life faithfully. Hebrews 5:7-8 shares with us the expectation that we will put the good gift of Christ Jesus to work in our lives for the good of others. Hebrews reassure us that God does see the good we do. Enjoy doing some good today!!!!!
