March 8 Deut. 12-14 & Hebrews 12

Israel was to have one place to worship God that would come to be Jerusalem on the Temple Mount. While we have many churches, we still can only be one place at a time. Are you where you are supposed to be? Do you have a sense that the church you attend is God’s House and your House of prayer? May you find God truly present and rejoice in the Lord’s presence with all your heart and soul. Do not hold anything back. Give God glory and praise with all your being. In many different ways, God strives to point out the importance of your faith on generations to come. While we certainly are the primary arbitrators of our faith life, I believe there is truth in Israel’s understanding of our effect on future generations. What we do helps or hurts the faith journey of people in the future. Can you see how this might be true? Pray that we in word and deed help those future followers of Christ to know and live the life of Faith. Know you are a people holy to the LORD, a part, a necessary part, of the body of Christ. So that the LORD, your God, may bless you in all that you undertake.

Hebrews speaks of the cloud of witnesses that surround us. For us, as Catholic Christians, we see those witnesses as the saint (official and unofficial) that have gone to heaven before us. They still express their love and concern for us before the throne of God the Father. I need their support and help. Do you? How far am I willing to go to do God’s will. Hebrews 12:4 a demanding quote, “In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood.” It is like if you are reading this, you have more to give!!! It is true, but I definitely need Jesus and all the Saints help. Pray and know their support.
