King David a faithfulness and a sense of integrity that is befitting a king for Judah and Israel. We hear that nobleness throughout the first chapters of 2 Samuel. He understands the position of God’s anointed king. Therefore, he does not harm King Saul, and the one that does must die. David was able to reconcile with enemies and even mourn their death. We see whether quickly in 2 Samuel how David will be the model for all kings to come, including the King of kings.
Coming to the end of 1 Corinthians, Paul shows his familiarity with the people and their situations and his desire for them to grow in faith and love. He wants them to care about the Mother Church in Jerusalem and to have a sense that the Church is beyond that of any one city. Paul ends his letter by saying, My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Can you hear Paul speaking these words to you? Not a bad way to end a letter.
