February 21 Numbers 1-3 & Romans 12

I do understand that Leviticus was not an easy book of the bible to read and pray with and The Book of Numbers will also prove difficult. But it is God's word trust that you can find him in these words. Pray for a heart open and be ready to see him. You, with God's help, can do it. I have faith in God and you!

Israel was to be a great nation as indicated by a total of six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty ready to fight for the people. We don't need to get caught up in the exact number or its largeness, but we do need to understand that the Israelites were preparing for war. To be the people of God is never easy for the Israelites or us. While we do not need to wake from sleep and prepare for battle each day we do need to understand that our God wishes us to live our faith and at times that will be difficult in a world that no longer values faith and its virtues. Don't turn away to a challenge of faith that will confront you today. Speak or act on God's behalf, and with his help, you will win the battle and maybe convert your enemy.

The message of Romans 12 works in every age. "Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect." There is much about our world that is of God, but there is also at times those realities that are godless. Each day we have to chose to be like Christ or be his enemy. Its so eases in this world to think of oneself as better or superior to someone else. We get into the comparison game. Paul reminds us that every person is a part of the body of Christ and that no one NO ONE is expendable. Do our actions and words relay that reality or do we come off smug and belittling of others? Paul's advice to let our love be sincere to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. To do this, we keep us quite busy today.
