March 14 Deut. 33-34 & 1 Peter 3:1-12

March 15, 2018

Today my little sister would have been 61 years old. She celebrates her 12th birthday in Heaven.  I am very grateful for the way she lived the life of faith. I can't pray the prayer that goes “Eternal rest grant unto her...,” cause being who she is, she is not resting.  She is hard at work praying for all of us before the throne of Christ. Squeeze one in for me sis!   Deuteronomy 33 speaks of blessings, a specific blessing for each tribe.  When you listen to God in your heart what words of blessing do you hear for your self or your family.  Moses was a faithful leader of his people.  How are you doing at leading others in the way of Christ?

As I will say when this comes up in Paul subordination to your spouse is not a one-way street.  There are times when one needs to lead and other times when one needs to follow.  As husband and wife, your leadership in the Lord is as one.  The Church (us) counts on your good example of unity and love.  I have always believed that simple is better.  There indeed have been times when I needed to simplify some areas of my life, and there is still needed work to be done.  Beauty does come from within, and those that do not see our true inner beauty are not our best friends.  Have fun with the exterior but don't feel like it is what makes or breaks you.  If we see as Jesus sees, we look to the heart of the person.   1 Peter 3:8-9, “. . . all of you, be of one mind, sympathetic, loving toward one another, compassionate, humble. Do not return evil for evil, or insult for insult; but, on the contrary, a blessing, because to this you were called, that you might inherit a blessing.”
