January 8 Genesis 16-18 & Mark 3:1-12

Abram is about to become Abraham. He shows us that faith work is a lifelong journey. His work of faith comes down many paths a second wife, angels and the Lord himself, etc. God makes a Covenant commitment to Abram and his descendants forever. God is for us. Through Jesus we are grafted on to the covenant of Israel. God is for us. Pray that your action and words today may reflect your commitment to God to do what is right and just.

Jesus question to those gathered in the synagogue is a good one, "is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?" Jesus is not breaking the Sabbath laws, but fulfilling them. Jesus did all he could to help people be whole and together. What would you like to do to help your family, workplace or church to be whole and/or come together?
